It's an online game that started to use (a few months ago) the "boobs + spam" technique.

-CSIs. I can't stand them anymore, every character is annoying (it seems that their superiors like to have a group of people with strage oddities instead of a normal group, like a 80s buddy-cop movie), the investigation doesn't makes sense... How it spawned 4 different series?

Yes. I've always hated Steam and now I do hate it even more. I'm the lord of this computer, and no fucking program is. Curiousness made my buy MW2, but the nasty surprises it has come with make me think I should've gotten me a black steamless copy for Chrissakes.

Nope this is just about Steam.
Not MW2. It's like Vista's rights management or SECUROM - just a frigging tool to harass honest customers. No, that's not true either. I'm pissed off by the general attitude of the gaming industry towards its customers. It's been smoldering in me since it took me almost a day to install ArmA2. I mean, could you tell me please why I should buy such an expensive product if the original copy comes up with a goddamn copy protection mode that tells me I mustn't run certain programs on my system or that fucks the entire installation process up when it does not like my DVD drive. And then there is this neat internet validation service thingy that doesn't allow me to specify the installation path and as if that wasn't enough, tells me I only have a limited contingent of installations left? Because I could just as well get the entire thing for free and without the surrounding crap. And guess what? Software piracy is still safe and sound. -------------------- |

Vista's rights management is disable-able... you don't like it, turn it off...
There's an annoying thing, people who complain about Vista because of a single feature that takes less than 5 minutes to turn off. (I mean, it's like complaining a desklight is on, when the switch is right next to you, there's no reason you can't turn it off, you just enjoy complaining) Which brings me to: Annoying thing no.2: People who enjoy complaining. As for Steam, all these are developer issues, as I thought I said but apparently didn't, this is down to external copy protection being stuck on top of Steam (usually SecuROM and other such nonsense, this is your limited installs issue right here). There's no reason for this, as Steam is, in itself, a perfectly good copy protection system. There are plenty of good pieces of software on Steam, such as Killing Floor or Red Orchestra, which work flawlessly. You only need to be online to activate the game, Steam also provides multiplayer services and whatnot. Installing is as simple as downloading. Once it's activated you don't even need to be online to play. The only thing you've said that has any real grounding in reality is that you don't get to choose where to install the game. But, do you really need to? If you want to install it to a different drive just install steam to that drive. It's not rocket science. The issue is, my final annoying thing for today; Developers who make absolutely no effort to modify their software for cross-platform compatibility. EDIT: Whoops, forgot one. Game critics who have no idea what they're talking about... -------------------- The Rules - Nothing too complicated, follow these and we'll have no problems.
