Hey guys, iv lost my backup A2OA "common folder", so all I have now is a common folder crammed with addons and frankly im sick of it being so cluttered and theres alot of addons that conflict with others.
This wouldnt be an issue sept I have A2 through Steam (f*ck you very much) and I really dont feel like sitting here for HOURS and HOURS reinstalling/downloading it through Steam just to get the default folder back. I know that sending me the stock folder is illegal so thats out of the picture. So what I was thinking is that someone who has a backed up untouched A2OA common folder could email me a list or picture of what addons are in there so I can go through my folder and slim it down to the original files. This has been bugging me for along time and any help would be greatly appreciated! |

Really guys? Noone? This would seriously take not even 5 mins of your time to help me out with this. I uninstalled A2OA through steam and redownloaded it, and as expected it took 18 HOURS to download and all it did was reinstall my corrupted common folder... again. Same addons that I had before and all so it was for no reason.
If someone could please help me with this I would be forever grateful. |

No need to get angry. If people haven't helped you, it's probably because they can't, not because they don't want to
All BIS content should have a corresponding .bi.bisign file (so you'll have wheeled.pbo and wheeled.pbo.bi.bisign), if you sort your addon folder by file name, and delete anything that doesn't have a .bi.bisign file, that should get rid of anything that isn't vanilla. If you accidentally delete a vanilla file, don't worry too much, rather than reinstalling, right click your game in steam > properties > local files > verify integrity of game cache, which should re download any of the original content. You can avoid this happening in the future by using mod folders, I wrote a tutorial on them for ArmA.1 (click here), it's essentially the same process for all the games, with OA you don't need to worry about the launcher, just select the mod folder in the expansions menu. Hope this helps -------------------- The Rules - Nothing too complicated, follow these and we'll have no problems.

Thank you so much man, haha and I am forever grateful! lol im not angry with anybody at all just annoyed with my situation and having to deal with steam. I went in and checked out the folder for the (bisign) files, and even mods that I know are 3rd party, not original mods have bisign's also obvisously. But I did notice like you pointed out that there are some that have "pbo.bi.bisign" and "pbo.bi2.bisign". Sorry if its a stupid question, I just want to make sure but are the ones that have "pbo.bi/pbo.bi2" vanilla files and the ones that dont 3rd party then?
And thanks again man for the reply I really appreciate it! Im not as advanced with ofp/arma as most people. |
