Hmm, it worked earlier. Well the video was 18 minutes long, presenting the new command system, walking over small obstacles and some endless talking.

Yep, it was working earlier. It showed the player reporting to his CO (a captain), and then picking up the next assignments. You can choose in which order to do them, and you can walk around the base, and pick your mode of transport (Humvee and Huey IIRC in this movie, as well as going on foot of course (it was 3700m away, doable on foot)).

Still the magical enter/exit animations on the vehicles. I think they should have done some animations for that by now. How hard it is to make the doors open/close animation, players animate enter/exit animation plus some kind of programming and relate the open/close with enter animation and another open/close for the exit... That would be better then the magical not materialized vehicles doors. It ruins the immersion a bit. So much AI work and you can say "Hey! Those guys looks like real ones!" then you see a HMMWV coming and the guys just appear outside the vehicle by a black magical stuff with a suspicious look! WTH!? Lol.

I already say it before, I am sure that this will be a great game, but small details can ruin it a bit.

Best regards.

Well, making anims for each vehicle is hard. Check eg. BF 2. There is No enter anims, you just spawn in smile.gif
Well, for me is enough what is now.

Mmm... Why are your comparing ArmA II with BF2? You should compare ArmA II with more recent games. It's not hard at all, it's time consuming not hard. Hard is making the AI the most human like you can. For making animations you just pay at some animations studio and let them doing the rest. Make some player animations for the specific vehicles is time consuming too, but making vehicles doors animation is really easy. At least they should make the doors open/close animation. That would help a bit.

Best regards.

NASA pc needed??

heh
on Arma 1 there was listed requirements, my first PC was stronger but it was working bad, after 15 minutes CTD, after 10 minutes no textures, cubic models etc.
i bought new PC after year and game started to work better, but althought i have PC much stronger than required, still i have problems with game (it is only game that i have problems ), so i thing that A2 will second mistakes of A1 sad.gif
probably even 1.5 times stonger PC will not guarantee it works :/
it seems they are very poor coders , not only military ignorants, i hope OFP2 DR will be better

the only thing i wait is Chernarus island, which looks lovely and superb
i also wonder what will be HDR work in A2, cause in A1 it is unacceptable

I hope HDR can be disabled in ArmA2... it adds a few fancy effects at a massive performance cost... even more so than Anti-Aliasing! ohnoo.gif

Hopefully it'll run a bit better than ArmA for me, Duel core optimization and such.

Yeah, I hope on Dual Core Optimization too.
ArmA is ridiculously hungry. Even my current system visibly slows down with postprocessing the textures if it has to do the full monty on all other fronts.

I had thought this was the place to get solid info on the very nice looking FPS ArmA II. It is really sad that the "CLAMP" on such a topic such as VBS1/2 is ruled as NOT ALLOWED. WT heck? Makes absolutley no sence. (Tried reading the rules about this - are you serious?) Now if the questions were catered to cheating or reverse engineeering, well ya, clamp away but this was rediculous.
I cant believe any medium such as this would dare make it's users look elsewhere for such information that is so readily available at other sites. This was a total waste to register to what appeared to be a fine site.
The questions I saw here had absolutley nothing to do with "Reverse engineering" or what ever was deemed to be improper. Those were legit questions and deserved a decent answer rather than the clamp the poster recieved!

Sorry about the bitch here, just felt it it would be nice to have one place to get an honest take on a particular topic only to find out you have to go to the forum next door to get all the answers.

If you tried reading the rules you would know that your post should have gone in the about our website section as it holds no connection to ArmA2 whatsoever.
You would also know that the reason discussion of VBS etc on these boards is discussed in the rules section.

^ What he said. Any further discussion about site rules should take place in the relevant thread in the "about our site" area.
