Damn, I wished we would hold such great parades as well (We only smuggle ourselves into the French Bastille Day parades ).
Well, here they'd probably throw eggs at the participating soldiers when a parade would be hold. -------------------- |

very nice, i still cant believe the gazelle is operated as an attack helicopter though. The British Army see them fit only for recce now, there concidered unworthy even as evac helicopters. Unarmored and little to no counter measures.

In the Le Penant Hostage Crisis some months ago, the French even deployed some Alouette IIIs...And were quite successful.

There were also UN Italian Soldirs from the 'Sassari' brigade i think or not? Your parade its better than ours because we can not show tank and other heavy vehicles:
this because we do the parade in ' Via dei fori imperiali' and if a tank go in it the Romans ruins can collapse ( sorry for the english ) I like the Cuirassers we have them too but the french are the original This post has been edited by sgt.Artmann: Aug 1 2008, 17:13 -------------------- At the Telephone...

Looking impressive
Sarkozy's reforms seem to be kicking in, got a massive army something like 780,000 current and reserve and still 3rd biggest nuclear power in the world, good force to have in NATO, along with us Brits!! |

this parade is useless and too expensive. Every tradition is of questionable use and throughoutly expensive, but does that mean we gotta break with them?a great country is not an army. Que? I don't get your point. -------------------- |

this parade is useless and too expensive. a great country is not an army. But there's no denying it helps. Still... I can't help but feel this picture makes El Sarko looks eerily similar to another short fellow who was quite keen on parades... and very fond of having tanks driven through Paris as well! -------------------- The Rules - Nothing too complicated, follow these and we'll have no problems.

The angle in which he holds his arm is not acute enough.

I think economic stability and the welfare of the people is a sign of a 'great' country, but I suppose a Western country like France has money to take care of its military and its civillian population

QUOTE Every tradition is of questionable use and throughoutly expensive, but does that mean we gotta break with them? yes, if the traditions are useless. Militaries are like children with theirs toys; during this time a lot of people don't have a roof on their head. and the health system is in deficit. In Norway, they don't have this kind of pathetic parade. QUOTE I don't get your point. . well, can you tell that an army represent a country? what is it the most important thing in country? the army? in my opinion the population is the picture of a country but not an army. a parade of children would give a better picture of France or a parade of people representing their professions. -------------------- |

yes, if the traditions are useless. Militaries are like children with theirs toys; during this time a lot of people don't have a roof on their head. and the health system is in deficit. In Norway, they don't have this kind of pathetic parade. And still there are people in Norway who don't have a roof on their head. a parade of children would give a better picture of France or a parade of people representing their professions. As if that would not have cost money.
