So, I need a new signature (the stuff underneath my posts) and I'm to lazy to do it on my own.
That's what this competition is for....you submit your entry (picture, text, whatever) and the jury decides which signature I'll have to use ! Anything is accepted..as long as it is following to the forum rules. Go ! The prize is not declassified yet -------------------- |

On a more serious, and not to be outdone by JdB, note:

So great efforts, so little knowledge about the prize. It's not about the prize, it's about knowing that you've beaten all other contestants -------------------- |

I'll put my money on John. Once he comes out with something of sheer brilliance like his Christmas banners with a cheeky flourish and something German... all bet's are off.

Freestyle... Begginers against professionals on Photoshop... Damn! I will need a better way of making that signature... Just look at the rest of the sig's ... They are all complete with many effects of disortion and who else knows more...

We aren't professionals we're amateurs (most of us) we just like what we do.

The key to a good (semi-professional) signature is to not fill in the entire space, and play with opacity/transparency (save as .png). Also the objects in the signature do not have to all fit inside the limits of the image (like what i did with the glasses), fitting them all in perfectly makes the image look artificial.
And I personally try not to use too many filters. Just using as many filters as possible doesn't necessarily make for a good image, you can overdo it, or use effects that do not fit into subject of the signature, making it look weird. (And when I put in something in a different language, I try to get the right translation, and if I can't, then I leave it out ) This post has been edited by I44_John: Nov 17 2009, 18:03 -------------------- |

Instead of a prize for victory, you should have a consequence for failure
And not entering will result in something even worse -------------------- The Rules - Nothing too complicated, follow these and we'll have no problems.

What a marvelous work, my blessed Argentine friend!
I absolutely cherish our popular new moderator's suggestion and as a denier, I shall volunteer for severe but fair punishment. Gentlemen, I'm glad to have met you. -------------------- |
