First, thank you for a great ArmA news site.
There's only one thing I'm missing. When I see some interesting news on the main page I'd like to have a direct link to that specific news to pass it to my friends on irc or msn. Best would be if I could click the title of the news and that would show me that specific news article only. |

This is probably a problem with the site's coding.
The site says the ArmA2 1.01 patch is 72.000Kilobytes, and the site translates that to 72MB rather than 69 which it should be (and is on all other sites), so I am guessing it is using 1000kbs for one MB rather than 1024 as it should be doing. Haven't checked it for other files, but I imagine it's the same. Edit: It is entered manually, so operator error. Never mind. well, i don't know to write that, so i put it here:
this forum is ill; why? - moderation is too serious, it kills the enjoy to be in these forums. it doesn't let the time for the new members to make their place - the "artist" section is a selfish section for only few guys. most of the people are not "artist", and just want tricks, advices etc etc, and not to be put in a category. - these forums seem a place for only a "tribe" and in my opinion, this is hard for new members to be accepted. - some old members have an arrogant stance toward the new members. the problem is not the layout, but the mentality. -------------------- |

I can't follow you, but maybe that's because you refer to people like me.
To clear myself of any suspicions I won't hint you at the designated threads that do exist for comments like that! Could you elaborate on what exactly does bother you? -------------------- |

Exactly this. Except maybe the arrogant stance bit. Because we all know she (hey, it's what the profile says) was wrong! If you need some elaboration peeMaster: 1. Moderation too serious: This has pretty much always been the case with JdB and his proto-jays (sue me, it's not in my spelling dictionary). I would extend this further by pointing out that not only has this driven out new members, but it's also caused several old members (The_Lord and Hamster) to be driven off these forums as well. 2. Artists section. I've already filled out a nice big topic on this. You can probably find it somewhere. I still think this section should be dissolved and every post moved to the appropriate section, which is the addons & mods: wip. 3. I haven't really noticed the tribe mentality outside the community chatter section to be honest. I wouldn't say this is a major issue. (although this could be 4 members who consistently spam the CCT with their latest opinions on celebrity lactive sacs) 4. Probably a reference to the exchanges between Mrs. Bulkington and several of the veteran members. QUOTE I can't follow you, but maybe that's because you refer to people like me. I didn't think to someone in particular, is just a general feeling as you know my english is not really good: to resume: the good old ofp forums were cool and fun, these forums are sad and boring. there are too much rules. personally i didn't read the rules (so annoying). And most of the guys/girls who come here don't need strict rules. we are civilized. in fact these forums become like the B.. forums. boring, strict, and if you break only one rule, the hammer of "justice" fall on your head. I know, there are always few assholes, but the majority just want to spend a good time in the forums. if you count the number of active members, you need just your 2 hands. QUOTE To clear myself of any suspicions I won't hint you at the designated threads that do exist for comments like that! where is it? -------------------- |

Still I can't understand your point. I know the old ofp.info-forums as well and the place was indeed different from this one: it was worse. Funnily enough I'd say that moderation was far less lenient, haveing been account-raped by King Homer several times for the most minor offences.
I popped up in the internets in early 2005 to get some help on OFP and the only persons willing to help were Cappa, Flyer and deadeye. I can assure you that this place here is neither less nor more hostile towards newbies than the old boards were. And as for this "tribe mentality" you've questioned: If people gather together in a board every day of course they form a clique of some sort with like-minded users. (although this could be 4 members who consistently spam the CCT with their latest opinions on celebrity lactive sacs) "Lactive sacs", that's awesome!

To forum admins: You should know that ARMA 2 isn't an acronym for "Armed Assault". Even BIS themselfs have stated it:
http://www.bistudio.com/developers-blog/ar...me-tale_en.html Just wanted to mention that, because the ARMA 2 forum board names say "Armed Assault", incorrectly. |

Long time I haven't been there. I was the main coder for this site when launched and had to go for personnal reasons but now I'm back. So if you have suggestions for the site, feel free to post them here and I'll try to do my best.

Not really anything for someone of your knowledge level to fix, but under the "Links" section, it says "Ressource sites", but it should be "Resource sites".

Greetings. What happens with a site: all news about ArmA2 were gone from archives, and also all addons for ArmA2?

The site is undergoing some changes; soon users will be able to choose to view either ArmA or ArmA II news, addons ect.
This is most likely a temporary issue as this work is completed, but I will leave any further details to the site team to answer. -------------------- |
