"Melvin"... hrr hrr hrr. It's a typical name craze item over here. Add to that Kevin, Linus and Chantal!
Wait, isn't the most common name for male babies in the United Kingdom "Mohammed" these days? Well, allow me to introduce Her Majesty's Prime Minister of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, Mohammed Cameron!
On another note, I don't think Spain will really join forces with Argentina. In truth the Spanish relations with Latin America are at an all time low since that Chavez slob and King Juan Carlos got in each other's way.

We're in an aliance with Spain to attack at the same time British territory*, first time I hear that. As far as I know, it was only an "I understand you mate, it is annoying to have those silly tea-drinking buggers. Let's condemn them in a pact that nobody will read nor care after a few weeks!" Over here it was only worth five minutes in a news channel and... That's it.
Retake the Malvinas...Or Gibraltar, for what? And speaking in behalf of Argentina... with what? And do you really think that Spain will risk to attack the Brits, knowing that the whole EU will be against them? Even crossing into the Strain would be a political suicide, even the Spanish aren't that dumb.
And on another note, "oh, poor me, my navy has 50 destroyers instead of the 400 that we used to have in 1960, who will protect us!". Modern wars are unconventional, a big navy is a big expense, and I don't understand who you think that will atack you, or why, even more considering the fact that the UK is sorrounded by their allies.
*Or as they claim!

Full stop.
Dave, you better get this cloning facility of yours going. I need a clone to be my ghostwriter.
Couldn't you just hire, you know, an actual ghost? They usually don't have anything better to do.

Saying they don't have anything better to do implies they have something else to do, if less important. What is it what ghosts do for a living? You know, I wanna see for myself. Wouldn't want to keep a ghost off their business on your word alone.

I don't believe ghosts do very much living at all! Death usually precludes one from such careers.

Oh God, don't tell me you're one of these bleeding heart death sympathizers. Do you want your daughter marrying a zombie or something? I'm sorry, is that not PC enough? Would you rather I said "living impaired"? Well I won't! A zombie's a zombie!

Well, we have those 7zip guys who offer the same service for free, but still.
Neither will save the dev industry from my wrath, though. Just now I spent a solid hour on Google sifting out one relevant result from quazillions of unrelated finds. They really dumbed down the whole engine. Not even their own search commands seem to work anymore. Not only are the results cluttered with obviously paid finds of barely graspable relevance - seriously, within a few years their first find for 'Adolf Hitler' will be 'peta' thanks to the "connection" of both advocating vegetarianism - and the results unpaid for are even less relevant.
Elliot Carver
Sep 6 2013, 01:37

Recently google has either been auto-completing my searches and opening the results or just opening a page it thinks i want to look at. Been really enjoying playing Kerbal Space Program (a kick ass sandbox space sim-them-up) and found myself looking on google for guides etc. So there i am typing in K...S.. and up pops "Katharine Susannah Prichard Writers Centre" covered in google adds and 'buy my sh*t' stickers. *close* no google im looking for K...S...Katharine Susannah Prichard Writers Centre!!! BUUUYY ITTT!!! *blocks through AVG* K...S...404 Page ........

Sep 6 2013, 02:47
Well, I wasn't thinking of ads but that's my point right there. 'Relevance' has ceased to be a criterion based on what you are looking for - it now is what Google says is relevant either because they're getting paid for doing so or because their weird ass algorithm is flawed.

You bring up a painful subject there. Yesterday I had a man screaming at me for not being allowed to fill out his wife's ballot paper
(yes, they were Muslims).
Tallying the votes is always great fun, too. For the state assembly voters had two votes to cast and some of the combinations were just aneurysm-inducing.
For example I saw someone had voted with their first vote for the Bavarian Party and with their second vote for the Franconian Party.
Now, the thing is this: the BP - which is arguing that Franconia is no true part of Bavaria - wants Bavaria to break away from Germany.
Whereas the FP wants Franconia to break away from Bavaria.
Just now a fricking house spider/ tegenaria gigantea took up residence behind a barely accessible part of my rooms before I could hit it with Thor's hammer. Spilt lavender oil everyhwere so the fucker gets the same headache it brought me. Gee I don't understand how Aussies can live with a spider fauna way more dangerous than ours; this one is too much for me already.

How do you Anglosaxons call those, provided that you have them? Your dealing with terms from the kingdom of nature is a curious thing to non-native speakers. Pneumonia, canine, hippopotamus and so on - down here we have indigenous words for them that contrast strongly with the Latin names.
In other news, I have lost another expensive headset to my hat size today. I ordered an even more expensive one, clinging to the futile hope that in this way it might survive a little longer.
